Really enjoy this method of studying on the train or coffee shop. Just wish that frigging Game Center wont rear it troublesome face.

great study app but could be better

I really like this app; it has vocab, reading, and writing practice and quiz modes. It also lets you customize flash card sets. I would like it more if it had a kanji practice mode to draw out a kanji multiple times for memory retention. Ive also caught a few vocab/definition blips.

Great(est) app for Japanese

This is one of the best apps for tracking your process and studying frequently. The games make it fun and constantly engaging. Must have for all studying Japanese.

Best japanese study app available

This is the best japanese language study app Ive encountered yet. Highly customizable and very well designed.

I heart kanjibox

Great value for money. Huge range of vocabulary with very helpful usage examples. Very customizable. My favorite thing is how the levels are organized (by JLPT test level) but in a way so it is possible to study previous levels and even sometimes have some unknown words thrown in. I also really enjoy the ability to compete in quiz mode. Very impressive design. I havent bought a lot of the more expensive Japanese learning apps but I think they have a hard time competing with the value for money you get from kanjibox.

Broken?!?!

When I start it, it says its updating, but then crashes or exits without finishing. Cant get into app to use it anymore. Was great before. Am I the only one with this problem?? Actually paid for this, so Im very unhappy........

Good but needs to be able combine study sets

Right now I have study sets corresponding to lessons from my textbook, but I cant easily batch combine several lessons into one chapter set to study for my exam, please add this feature, thanks

Essential JLPT review app

I love this app and have used it regularly for over year. Thank you!

Great Resource!

The drills and quizzes are great for vocab building, and the link to the imiwa dictionary app saves a lot of time when studying. I used this extensively to study for N3 and N2. There are a couple things I would improve on usability-wise, but Im stuck with an older version so they might have been fixed.

Dont waste your money like I did.

This app is such a waste of time. The best app on the store for Kanji was "Shin Kanji", but was deleted when ios 8 was released. In search of a replacement, I came across this and read the reviews which are lies. Dont buy this app, go spend $8 on the "Japanese" app. Im sure its better

THERES A BUG

I reviewed this app a while ago and still love it but I found a bug. When I try to enter the grammar section the app just closes on me. Please fix this!! I use this app daily and want to learn from the grammar sets. Also disregard my last review. It was negative because of the writing system but I think it was because of my own error. I think it would be great to have full reading text for the iPhone app too! Please give it some consideration! Thanks.

Good learning tool

For the price, Kanjibox offers a convenient on the go way to learn kanji. You can go through lists or JLPT levels in different learning modes. Nice to have would be: -sample sentences (only words are shown). Specially when more advanced kanjis are shown, it is difficult to know their meaning from the word translation. A context sample sentence would be very helpful. - connection to kotoba does not show the kanji right away, it only opens the program - JLPT N3 level

Super fabulous

The best of the best. I wish I could give it ten stars...just...terrific.

Great app

Thus app is really handy to study kanji. I like the different quizzes and the way it makes them harder by using similar characters as answer choices. Love it get it!

Best Japanese Learning App

Finally something that competes with DuoLingo. DL has been missing Japanese as a language to learn and KanjiBox easily fills in for what they lack!

A comprehensive learning tool

I cant tell you how sad I am this app didnt exist when I was studying Japanese in college, but Im very pleased with how its enabling me to work towards fluency again. Now I have all these expensive kanji books that I dont need!

Great review tool

Not so good for learning if you are just starting. But it has links to imiwa app and that app is great for studying.

Fantastic. Easy to use.

I love how customizable it is and how its packed with so much more kanji and vocab than any other program Ive seen. You might want to know hiragana an about radicals before starting this if kanji intimidates you as that beginner info is all its missing. The stats are useful and easy to read and being able to create your own vocab sets is quick and easy. Drilling is quick, fun, and it really challenges you by putting up similar kanji which is brilliant and Ive yet to see that in any other program. Dont waste your money on other programs that are more expensive they dont have a fraction of what kanjibox can offer.

The best.

This is the first app that has ever impressed me enough for me to review it. I have tried dozens of language study methods over the years. This app is easily the best I have ever used to study Japanese or any other language - I would love to see its method extended to other languages. Keep up the great work. One minor suggestion: make the (very useful) example sentences more accessible, especially in study mode - they should be attached to the flash cards. It would be great if there were also some study mode or incentive system based around reading full sentences.

Very helpful! すごい!

Expands the kanji!
