Having been using this app for over a year now, I very much enjoy it! It could definitely use some graphical improvements, but it works just fine how it is.

I recently started studying Japanese again and Came across Kanjibox. It is by far the best language learning tool I have ever used. In a couple weeks I feel like Ive gotten back what I lost through being rusty, on top of learning even more kanji and vocabulary Id never known. Granted, this may not be as miraculous a tool for beginners, but it is definitely still worth every penny. If youre learning Japanese, there isnt an app on the App Store that can compete!

My sister recommended this. She said it is integrated with imiwa. I use imiwa as my main dictionary and general resource for Japanese. So far, kanjibox has been as useful as she described. Why imiwa? Imiwa is better at finding search words. Kanji box easily excepts words from the clipboard. I find the required word or kanji in imiwa and copy it. Kanji box has been an excellent mobile study tool. The two applications work well together. I would give kanjibox more stats, if it were possible.

Of all the apps (for PC or iOS) Ive tried, this comes closest to matching how I learn. Slick design, excellently configurable (though the ability to separately drill kanji by on and kun readings would be nice), and nicely extendable with both free and for-pay options. Good job all around. Do install imiwa? with this, both for more examples and because the definitions do contain very occasional small errors and omissions.

Great app for preparing for the JLPT- i recommend using it with music though as it gets dull really fast

This is a very good supplement to in-class or textbook learning. Im learning on my own time from books and this is great for drilling, recalling, and overall practicing Japanese.

A really excellent app, with useful additions as in-app purchases. If you are learning Japanese, this is the app to get.

Its a good app to learn quick Kanji & Katagana. Some downloaded content relates to anime vocabulary. I wish it could also have a side note on how each word can be pronounce thru Romani. Other than that its great. A Twitter subscriber recommends this app.

I wish I had this 15 years ago when I was struggling with my Kanji study books. For just $5 you save $100s on books with this app! (and probably a lot of time too) ^^;

It helps you review, but there really isnt any context. If you know nothing this app may be too advanced. Choose a simpler app like "Mirai japanese". And then come back to this app.

I bought this app to bolster my studies as I approach the JLPT in December. Its really helping me to learn and remember kanji. Truly, I am making more progress in that regard than ever before courtesy of this app! Beyond that, it is useful for vocabulary, reading comprehension, etc. Im not certain about the grammar, as I have a lot of ground to make up on that front. It seemed like the learning curve was too steep there, but thats where textbooks come in, for me. My favorite part? The fact that my 90-minute commute is now productive instead of irritating!

I love this app. It is a great tool for drilling yourself on Kanji. Best of all once downloaded is still works in airplane mode.

This app is the best internet resource I have found so far for studying Japanese. It has greatly increased my kanji and vocabulary knowledge and is a big help in studying for the JLPT. The web version is good, but I definitely prefer the iOS app. Highly recommended.

Ive been looking for an app similar to obenkyo for iPad and this is actually better than obenkyo. I love that it works with imiwa?, and that it not only keeps track of how many kanji Ive learned, but also does vocab as well. Best $4 Ive spent. Hope they keep developing the app. Still loving this app. Over 6 months later, use it almost every day.

I wouldnt try and use this app to learn the kanji in the first place, but when you want to drill characters youre already learning elsewhere, it provides fun reinforcement. Lots of options let you personalize the experience, and the algorithm for repetition paces you really well.

Super fun and useful. Ive been using it primarily as review so that I dont forget kanji/vocabulary now that Im no longer living in Japan. Seems like a versatile app, useful for studying unknown words, and pretty customizable. For reference, Ive been using it at N2 level. Love using this when I have a little downtime!

At any level above 4, the "Quiz" mode hangs.

This is a great app for people who have some experience with Japanese and have mastered kana and some basic kanji. This is not for someone who is just starting, but for those who are looking at moving past the basics and on to more intermediate study. When you are ready to use all the tools, it is amazing, but it can be discouraging and confusing to a true beginner.
